Monster Ministry

For over two years, individuals from Ney Church of God have gathered together to sew, stuff and create adorable stuffed monsters. These monsters are then taken to local hospitals and urgent care facilities to freely give to children. Our church has received feedback from parents touting how impactful these little monsters have been to their child. As of December of 2017, we have produced over 500 of these to give away. These stuffed monsters have brought peace and comfort to many children during a very scary time in life. We are so blessed to have such an amazing ministry to reach out into our community.

However, this group is not satisfied! Recently, they have added a new project to their ministry… weighted blankets! Weighted blankets have been shown to help individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, sensory and/or sleep disorders. Many individuals, who never slept through the night, now sleep soundly because of these blankets. Although not their main focus, this group has continued to reach out with love and compassion to those who are experiencing pain.

If you want to join this group, they meet every 2nd Saturday of the month at the church.

My 5 yr old son broke his arm a few weeks ago... a very bad break. He was in horrible pain and very scared! They gave him one of your monsters at the Bryan hospital and it became his best buddy. His monster's arm was wrapped just like my sons, he rode in the ambulance with him, and even went into surgery with him. His monster helped him be a little less scared. Thank you!

Thank-you again! Such a blessing for our children going through terrible times!
